    Verdict

Cordite made great strides from his debut at York to chase home Rozene at Beverley and will be much better suited by this two furlongs longer trip. Despot also showed some progress on his second start at Warwick though he'll need to improve again as will Lacock, who has looked one-paced in his two starts over 6f. There are several choicely-bred newcomers here with Roger Varian muddying the waters by saddling a pair though it's the 100,000gns yearling RAPID ADVANCE who looks set for a winning start under Ryan Moore as he's by Medicean out of a mare who won a Listed race over a mile in Germany. Piton is another to watch out for as he's a half-brother to no less than nine winners including Gateman and a Group 1 winner in Germany.
