Verdict

An interesting opener to get proceedings underway and as always where maiden events at this venue are concerned, some of the top stables are represented. Two contenders have racecourse form they been Light The Fire and Rich Red. Light The Fire has much the better form of those two, having contested what looked a decent Ascot conditions event won by the smart Baycat first time out. However, we will take one of the newcomers to make a winning racecourse debut. Of those, Eagles High, a 100,000 guineas purchase is very interesting and being by Johannesburg is bred to be speedy. However, question marks exist over the form of the Chapple-Hyam yard. We will take a chance with the Michael Jarvis trained Silent Hero, an Oasis Dream colt. Market moves for Silent Hero should certainly be taken on board. With neither of Richard Hannons' main riders attending the meeting it could be assumed that his newcomer Lucky Redback may benefit for the outing while Titus Andronicus is another newcomer of interest, the Kevin Ryan yard having saddled a juvenile winner at Newmarket on Friday with Sound Of Nature. Keep a close eye on the market is the advice but Silent Hero is given the vote.
