Verdict

Flexible Flyer was runner-up in last year's renewal but is 9lb higher today having won a couple of races subsequently. Syrian Pearl went close at Nottingham last time but that was back in September and AMONG ANGELS is preferred. The latter found only one too good at Wolverhampton recently and now back on a winning mark, can reverse running at Southwell in February with third-placed Sir Billy Wright. Doctor Parkes has won twice on the all-weather this year and drops back down in class while Captain Lars could also finish closer back in this lower grade.
