Roy Bowring's runners here are always worth a market check and Ace Master, who has won over this trip and further on the all-weather, should strip fitter for his sixth at Thirsk. Jay Kay, Smokethatthunders and Champagne Bob are previous course winners while the lightly-raced Mickey Haller is of interest making his handicap debut. Ryan Moore takes over the reins on the similarly-unexposed THE SALMON MAN (NAP) and he looks the one to be on as he continued his upward curve with a fifth at Haydock in what looked a better race.
