In depth

Verdict

Those with experience set a decent standard. Positive Impact made a promising debut at Thirsk and Thunder Roar found only one too good at Salisbury in September. Knight Of Honour was only beaten half-a-length over course and distance last year but was no match for Akhu Naijla over a mile at Yarmouth on his reappearance. The latter is trained by Roger Varian, who runs the Starspangledbanner newcomer FLAG OF TRUTH in this. The yard had two pattern race winners over the weekend and is starting to fire. Tathbeet’s stable is in cracking form but he may need further on breeding. Lingfield third Shockwaves may be best of the rest.
