In depth

Verdict

A tough opening handicap but hopefully PLUTOCRAFT can go in ahead of Learo Dochais and Cadeaux Fax. The selection hails from the rejuvenated James Fanshawe stable that have winners at this track. It's the son of Starcraft's first try in handicap company and he is very much of interest on that basis. He had two starts at two and just the one this year and has improved with each run. The slight drop in trip is a small concern but the stiff finish here should counteract that. Learo Dochais has been very disappointing since winning his maiden at Lingfield. However, he has now dropped to a decent handicap mark and represents top connections so a market check is advised. Cadeaux Fax burnt a few fingers on his latest start when failing to fire at Chepstow. He was well backed that day so obviously more was expected. His stable remains in good heart so he is another who will be in the shake up. Sweet Possession is another to note in a tough opener but Plutocraft gets the nod.
