In depth

Verdict

Porth Swtan was only beaten a head at Chester last month but was soon beaten in a York maiden a couple of weeks later. Alkhawaneej Boy took an age to get going at Thirsk but ran on nicely once getting the hang of the job and will have come on markedly for the experience. Whitehall was extremely green on his Yarmouth debut but he's another who will have improved but there are some well-connected newcomers engaged. Profound, who cost 54,000gns as a foal, went for 340,000 euros at the sales in May so must have been doing something right while BEACHCOMBER BAY, a 525,000gns yearling, is closely related to two Listed winners and may be good enough to make a successful start. Court House is a 200,000 euros son of Dawn Approach out of a mare who has produced winners with her first three offspring.
