Verdict
Sharon Watt is the sixth trainer to have taken charge of Jewelled Dagger but she got a really good tune out of the nine-year-old this month when the gelding defied an 11-month absence to notch a comfortable Chepstow success. The 'bounce factor' inevitably rears its ugly head on this follow-up outing but he will go close if in the same form despite a 6lb higher mark. Cane Cat went well under this pilot when a fair second last time and is of interest upped in trip but the choice is SPANISH PLUME. He remains a capable sort at his best and has been in respectable form this term. Despite top-weight he would still be good enough to land this modest affair if putting his best foot forward.
