Modest fare but a couple of unexposed sorts at the foot of the handicap catch the eye, notably FLUCTUATION, claimed out of Southwell claimer from William Haggas last time by Ian Williams. Inexperience seemed to cost victory that day and his new handler has found a decent opportunity off the bottom perch. Tom Dascombe's Full Pelt has shown bits and pieces of form in maiden company but could do better handicapping and is not harshly treated. Of the more exposed contenders, Alluring Star stands out on the back of two successes at Carlisle. He was well beaten last time at Chester but the two tracks couldn't be more different and he should appreciate the return to a conventional challenge.
