In depth

Verdict

Vertueux is 7lb better off than when beaten just over five lengths by NOT TIL MONDAY over 2m here 13 days ago. The top weight will relish this longer trip, however, while the former isn't certain to last home so the placings should be confirmed and John Jenkins' five-year-old can strike again. Irish import Skylancer was second on his debut for Tim Vaughan at Hereford but beaten 28 lengths and more is needed here, while Break The Chain has been raised a pound for finishing a six-length second to Right Stuff at Huntingdon. Consulate and Simonside look best of the rest as Magic Prospect has had plenty of chances.
