In depth

Rayna's World stayed on strongly in the closing stages at Doncaster last month and will be fancied to go one better, despite a 3lb rise. Aiya has won on Fibresand and Polytrack this year while King's Proctor beat Artarmon at Nottingham last year and will be all the better for an outing at Southwell. ADAMS PARK missed the break at Wolverhampton earlier this month and was always struggling thereafter. But that run proved that this trip was no problem and he showed plenty of promise in maidens last year. Dubai Empire won at Musselburgh last season but looks to have plenty to do here off a mark of 85.

Dubai Empire (FR) 50-1 (9-2) Raced centre, keen, tracked winner until over 3f out, weakened over 1f out, 6th of 7, 13 3/4l behind Kew Gardens (9-2) at Newmarket 1m 2f lst stks (1) gd in Oct.

King's Proctor (IRE) 4-1 (9-9) Chased winner throughout, awkward on bend halfway, shaken up 3f out, ridden and unable to go with winner from 2f out, plugged on, 2nd of 7, 14l behind Sevenna Star (9-2) at Windsor 1m 2f stks (5) hvy in Apr.

Aiya (IRE) 11-10fav (9-8) Raced keenly, led, headed after 2f, tracked leader, driven over 1f out, led again inside final furlong, soon ridden and hard pressed, just held on, won at Lingfield 1m 4f hcp (5) pol in Feb beating Sotomayor (8-11) by hd, 6 ran.

Adams Park 3-1 (9-7) Slowly into stride, held up in rear, pushed along over 2f out, ridden and no response well over 1f out, some late minor headway, never on terms, 4th of 6, 5l behind Volevo Lui (9-5) at Wolverhampton 1m 4f hcp (4) pol in Apr.

Rayna's World (IRE) 8-1 (8-10) In rear, ridden and headway over 1f out, kept on to take 2nd place close home, 2nd of 6, 1/2l behind Ventura Dragon (8-10) at Doncaster 1m 2f hcp (3) sft in Mar.

Artarmon (IRE) 7-2 (9-2) Awkwardly away, in touch in rear, ridden 3f out, driven and ran on final furlong, went 2nd towards finish, no threat to winner, 2nd of 6, 2 1/4l behind African Jazz (9-2) at Lingfield 1m 4f stks (5) pol in Mar.
