In depth

Verdict

It was soft going when Antunes won easily at Uttoxeter but he has a 14lb hike in the weights to contend with. Hijran has won twice in soft ground either side of finishing fourth on faster going at Stratford and Ar Mest’s earlier success at Lingfield came on heavy going. But no doubts surround PERCY STREET regarding the ground and having tumbled down the weights and posting a good effort at Taunton recently, David Pipe’s charge gets the vote. The Cannister Man ended last season with a victory at Exeter and is 11lb higher today while Haafapiece also has soemthing to porve off his current mark.
