In depth

Verdict

This is a poor contest and we will give the tentative vote to BLUE NOODLES over Flamsteed and Tidal Force. The selection is dropped in grade tonight and at this level he has to be a leading player. He has ground conditions to suit and from a decent draw he can provide trainer Ollie Pears with a welcome winner. Flamsteed is another who has a fair draw and he drops to this level for the first time. He has yet to tackle ground with any cut in it, but if he handles it then he should go well. Tidal Force would have claims on the pick of his juvenile form but he has been largely disappointing so far this year and even though he has a good high draw he is hard to fancy. Come On Buckers wasn't beaten far in this grade at Brighton a couple of starts ago, although he would probably prefer the ground to be a bit quicker to be seen at his best. Handcuff may prove best of the others, but in a race that makes only limited appeal we will put forward Blue Noodles as the one to beat.
