Verdict
Dermot Weld won this three times in succession from 2010 and VA PENSIERO showed enough potential when landing a maiden at Dundalk in February to suggest she can get the stable back on the scoresheet. She has much more to do but a mark of 81 may prove to be lenient. Set To Fire looked as though another furlong might help when staying on behind Midnitemudcrabs over this trip at Dundalk last month but Verbosity will love the conditions and might have finished closer on her return at Cork but for being impeded. Fire Tree ended the last campaign with a victory at Dundalk then produced a good run in a nursery over a mile here while Prove The Point should be winning soon judged on last month's run at Dundalk, where she was only headed in the closing stages.
