In depth

Verdict

BLAZING SONNET has definitely improved over fences so the fact that she's just 6lb higher than her last hurdles run when scoring at Limerick just about gives her the edge in a trick handicap. Robert Tyner's horses are going well so the recent Thurles runner-up Lughnasa can be given a chance despite a big weight. Ariane Nopolis is very much the unknown quantity here having run just three times, two of them in France. She makes her handicap debut on a lowly mark and something may have been ailing her when she was beaten at odds-on at Fakenham in October. Emily Gray has now won three of her last four and though 9lb higher than her victory at Limerick in December she should go well.
