In depth

Verdict

The 2018 Irish Derby winner Latrobe has only won once subsequently, a Group 3 over 1m2f here in August for which he's penalised 3lb. Whether he has the pace for this nowadays is another matter. Flight Risk is similarly penalised for scoring at Cork the same month and though he's won three times around here he's tackling this trip for only the second time in a long career. The stable is also represented by VERBAL DEXTERITY with Kevin Manning on board. The 2017 National Stakes winner has generally competed at a much higher level than this and may not be too inconvenienced by a long absence. Bowerman stays the trip and proved himself this class when runner-up to Ancient Spirit at the Curragh while Bolleville is an interesting recruit from France where she's won at this level though on heavy going. Three-year-olds have a good record in the race and Keats fits the bill after making all over a mile at Killarney.
