Verdict

Crockford was well supported at Gowran over 7f and looked like winning when taking up the running a furlong out but couldn't quite sustain the effort. He'll know more here but so will HOWLING RIDGE, who belied his 20/1 SP with a cracking effort behind Klute and Guaranteed at the Curragh - the runner-up won back there at the weekend. The latter is trained by Jim Bolger, who has Girolamo engaged here and he's a full-brother to two winners. The 425,000gns yearling Eminence is by Sea The Stars out of a mare from a family packed with stamina while Pythion is out of a mare who has produced winners with her first two foals to race. Unforgiven has numerous winning relatives, including Group 2 winner Harbour Watch, and hails from a yard in top form as does Azophi, another by Sea The Stars.
