In depth

Verdict

Allthough Cherokee Brave and Scribe will have improved for their debuts, Apache looks the best of the Aidan O'Brien trio though his overall form isn't anything to rave about. The front-running It's Freezing hasn't found much when headed but may be suited by stepping up in trip and more restraining tactics while Long Journey Home ran reasonably well over the C&D three weeks ago and still has plenty of scope. He was just behind OLYMPIAD on that occasion and Dermot Weld's Galileo colt is the type to make major progress in his second season and gets the nod here before going on to better things. Crystal Highness was a disappointing odds-on favourite at Cork and will need to do better.
