In depth

Verdict

Araku Valley was engaged in a conditions race here yesterday against better opposition so that result should be monitored. Dick Dundee ran a fine race at Limerick on Friday in a Grade B handicap so has to be considered if taking part but Noah Webster ran very moderately on his handicap debut behind him at Cork three weeks ago. Dawerann is very consistent but his only victory came on very fast ground. SEA LIGHT went up 10lb for her victory at Thurles but it made no difference as she won impressively here on St Stephens Day. She'll go up by more than her 6lb penalty and should complete a hat-trick. Good As Gold also ran on the same day finishing a fine second to the in-form Emily Gray so she must have a chance off the same mark.
