In depth

Verdict

PHOENIX OPEN looked a certain future winner when a close third over this trip at Cork and was well supported when tackling 1m2f at Naas but got no sort of run. Back over this trip he can gain compensation though the former USA-trained Myth Creation was staying on nicely over 7f at Leopardstown and is an obvious threat. Mid Atlantic Storm found 6f too sharp on his debut at Sligo and was going on at the finish while Dermot Weld's Proxy, a daughter of Frankel out of a Group 3 winner, is an obvious one to keep an eye on for the future
