In depth

Verdict

Another fine turnout with Rathlin sure to attract support after last season's exploits, though he's needed his opening run in the past and has a Grade 2 penalty to contend with. False Economy was busy on the Flat in mid-summer so should be fit enough and he's done very well over fences though RIVAGE D'OR could be the one to be on after his very impressive victory at Ballinrobe last month where he jumped superbly. Down In Neworleans is unbeaten in three starts over fences and though taking on better company he looked a fine prospect when scoring by 10 lengths at Galway last August - he shouldn't be dismissed despite a long absence. Knockfierna won three Grade 3s last season and may have won a Grade 2 but for running out so she's another to watch out for in a fascinating race.
