Passing Trade looked a certain future winner with two very good runs on soft ground and started favourite at the Curragh but found the going too quick. Waterlemon Bay was making his handicap debut over 7f at Gowran but had no answer to Fit For Function. The ground was probably too quick for him and he should make a bold bid while Nisior Donn has been in very good form all season though he's 10lb higher than when scoring at Dundalk in February. The three-year-old LUMINENT had shown potential at Dundalk last year and returned to form at Navan a couple of weeks ago when attempting to make all. He was caught inside the final furlong and beaten a length by Light Breeze, who was receiving 17lb, and compensation awaits.
