In depth

Verdict

Wining point-to-pointer and bumper Clonbanan Lad looked promising when making a winning hurdling debut at Punchestown and though well beaten in a Fairyhouse Grade 1 subsequently he wasn't disgraced and this is more his level. Edeymi has missed a couple of opportunities through bad weather recently so should be ready but his most recent form leaves plenty to be desired and he's best watched for now. Prince De Beauchene is the class-act here though it's almost four years since he last ran over hurdles. He's now a high-class chaser with a mark of 155 after his Grade 2 victory at Fairyhouse in February but he'll be back over fences shortly and could just need this. VENTURE CAPITAL has nowhere near the experience of most of these rivals and was having only his third start when running away with a maiden hurdle at Wexford. However, he looked potentially useful that day and with the slightly longer trip in his favour he's taken to surprise a few of his better fancied rivals.
