Not an easy race and we will take a chance on BYRD IN HAND to come good. John Bridger's gelding has been well beaten in handicaps over a mile and 7f so far, but he has dropped 7lbs as a result. A mark of 60 now makes him an attractive proposition and this step back up in trip to 10f, which pedigree suggests will be a significant plus, means we give him the vote. Akamon looks a danger dropped back from 1m 4f and can go close to repeating her Beverley win, while Little Meadow should not be ruled out despite a lowly mark. Celestial Girl is feared but has twice been beaten from today's mark, while both King's Realm and Mister Bit are others to note if supported on their first try in this grade. (Jonathan Doidge)
