Verdict
After a series of runs during which he seemed sure to win sooner or later, Highly Sprung threw in a bad one last time and it will be interesting to see if he bounces back here. He has every chance on those previous efforts to play a leading role if doing so. Tanasoq has to be shortlisted off the bottom rung as a lighly-raced 4-y-o likely to improve and who shaped with distinct promise on reappearance over this trip. Goring represents a yard in the best of form but COMPAS SCOOBIE (NAP) is the choice. The Varian gelding ran into all sorts of traffic problems on his latest run when still only beaten a length and a half and had previously looked an upwardly mobile sprinter. He's worth another chance to gain compensation for that recent misfortune.
