        Verdict

        Tregarron is the confident choice in this weak looking seller, Barton Sands and Welsh Wind may be the two to chase him home. Richard Hannon's gelding ran an absolute blinder in a Wolverhampton claimer last time, finishing third behind two horses rated in the eighties. That form should easily be good enough in this company and an overdue success looks on the cards. Barton Sands is well in here on official ratings and if it was over ten furlongs he would have strong claims. Over this shorter trip a place is probably the best he can hope for. Welsh Wind recorded a course and distance victory last winter and hasn't been doing too badly recently, he could get into the frame. The pick of the others could be Extra Mark, but Tregarron appears to have the best overall form and he gets the nod.
