      Verdict

      Henry Clay made a promising first attempt when second at Brighton back in October and is likely to have improved since but FORCEFUL APPEAL has the more recent form. The French import was beaten only a short-head at this track on last month's debut for Simon Dow and a repeat over this shorter trip should see him go one better. Spellmaker and Archina are both likely to finish closer this time, while Italian Riviera is related to several winners including Ebor winner Moyenne Corniche and is worth noting in the betting on his debut.
