A quality handicap in which GLOW STAR is narrowly preferred to come out on top. Gary Moore's gelding caught the eye last time out at the track when staying on well over seven furlongs. That was his best run since coming across from South Africa and with the step up in trip in his favour he should run well. Red Somerset bounced back to form in a claimer but needs to improve, Orchard Supreme runs this track well but still looks a tad high in the weights, whilst Samarinda is much better on the all-weather but his mark reflects that and he is opposed. Carcinetto is a game mare but she is granted no slack by the handicapper due to her consistency and tendency to run well in Listed company. Of more interest then is Falcativ who drops in grade and this course winner has run well after a break before; after 125 days off he looks a major factor. Spitfire tries the visor, Den's Gift is edging back down to a decent mark, whilst a similar comment applies to L'Hirondelle. Course and distance winner Hawaana is yet another to consider in a very open race, however it is Glow Star who is nominated.
