Verdict

A debut winner at Southwell before placing here, Mount Mayon represents last year’s winning yard. But he missed an engagement on the Fibresand yesterday and is closely matched on these terms with recent runner-up Princesse Animale. Big Impression failed to land the odds when well beaten in a match over 7f at the track on his debut while CANZONE started a big price over track and trip last month though finished a respectable fourth. Normal progress can see him go close with the more exposed Dr Jekyll perhaps best of the rest.
