Verdict

Roger Varian’s yard has been back among the winners in the last week or so and OPEN CHAMPION can add to the tally. The latter showed a big improvement at Newmarket on his first start gelded and is taken to confirm running with Makfoul. Treble Joy was no match for a winner rated 101 when second at Kempton but is preferred to Southwell third A Shining Moon with the remainder hard to recommend.
