      Verdict

      GOWANAUTHAT could land this if on a going day as he won on heavy going at Ludlow two runs ago and has a 7lb claimer to reduce his burden. Strange Bird, Red Anchor and Somerby are all previous course winners but in the veteran stage now. Wayward Frolic looks more of a danger as his latest effort came over hurdles, though he'll be having his fourth run in a short space of time. Veauce De Sivola is still awaiting a first victory over fences after 12 attempts and has been getting no nearer.
