Verdict

GREEN VELVET gets the narrow vote ahead of Waterloo Dock and Ask Jenny in this handicap. The selection has been a model of consistency in his career to date. He is the winner of two races and has been placed countless of times. His latest effort at Lingfield in December was a fair one after finishing second to Divine Force. He goes well fresh and is sure to be in the shake up come the business end of the race. Waterloo Dock is two pounds higher since winning at this venue last time out. Connections have applied first time visors to their charge to try and enhance his chances and he is another that should be added to the short list with conditions in his favour. Ask Jenny landed back to back races over course and distance in the winter but has been well held since. She comes here after having a short break so she will be fresh but the handicapper may have where he wants him for the time being. Green Velvet is the form horse in the race and looks the percentage call.
