      Verdict

The shortlist contains Cayman Breeze, Gaudalpin and Humility, but the vote goes to Midmaar. Midmaar has improved in his last two runs for a gelding operation and, having swooped late and fast to score over six furlongs in a falsely-run affair last time, a two-pounds rise might have understated his ability. As such, he gets our vote. Cayman Breeze comes here in good heart, running well from around this mark and this is his best trip, while Gaudalpin warrants a look now that he has dropped to a more realistic racing mark. Humility is three pounds better off with Cayman Breeze based on November Wolverhampton form, so he is respected too. Of the others, Flying Dancer has left the impression there is better to come, Big Mystery has more to do from her revised mark although she is racing at a more appropriate trip today, but Savernake brave looks just about held on recent efforts. Finally, Zazous has been beaten from his revised mark for winning and is eight pounds worse off with Auentraum for a length based on November form, although that was over five furlongs. However, for the selection, we return to Midmaar.
