In depth

Verdict

A couple of these stand out on smart jumps form. MENGLI KHAN ran poorly over fences at Ascot on his debut for Nicky Henderson with the usual tongue-tie left off. But the headgear is back in place today and he’s just preferred to Quick Grabim, who also disappointed over fences last time but won a Grade 1 hurdle on good ground for Willie Mullins when trained in Ireland. Black Kalanisi is rated higher over fences than recent Southwell winner Reve and Bardd looks up against it on these terms.
