Verdict

EMERALD WILDERNESS was allowed to start at 12/1 when winning over a mile here last Saturday. He won't be that price today which is a pity as he looks capable of following up given he can effectively race off a lower mark with an apprentice's 5lb claim taken into account. Aquilonius couldn't live with him last time and Mark Rimmer's charge had finished ahead of Mia's Boy, Mawaakef and Be Perfect when third over track and trip before that. The latter is proving difficult to win with as he has been sent off favourite on his last two starts but cheekpieces are removed after his latest disappointment and it would be foolish to write him off just yet.
