Verdict
This opener could prove to be a penalty kick for Heltornic with Miss Merenda and Amber Straight posing as the biggest dangers. A faller at the eighth when clear at Uttoxeter when last seen out Heltornic can and should if standing up make amends for that disaster. He has already proved himself good enough with a win at Fakenham last season and with improvement still very much on the cards this unexposed individual will be winning more races. Miss Merenda won a little race at Fontwell earlier on in the year but looks exposed on what it has achieved since. Amber Straight is the only other horse in the race with any worth while form but it is limited and with fitness a doubt is probably best avoided. This is such a poor contest and with ground conditions very testing it could throw an odd result but on all given form Heltornic should win.
