Verdict

DESPERATE DAN is a more reliable sort than Sir Edwin Landseer and is thus preferred whilst Buy On The Red may prove to be best of the rest. Andy Haynes has done well with the selection who had proved difficult to win with prior to joining the yard. However, he's now got fifteen career successes to his name and is a regular winner in this type of contest. He has a little to find at the weights but should be in the mix if enjoying the splits. Sir Edwin Landseer was a smart performer at his best and showed signs of a return to form in a visor last time. He's the clear pick at the weights but isn't always foot perfect when the gates open and consequently wouldn't appeal as a reliable proposition at a short price. Buy On The Red has only managed to win once in twenty visits here but ran well enough when last in action to be considered although he goes to post without his usual headgear. Decider is not without claims but has shown his best all-weather form at Wolverhampton unlike dual course and distance winner The Magic Blanket who needs to be considered on his return to action but preference is for Desperate Dan.
