In depth

Verdict

Radetsky March should strip fitter for his run at Kempton but has become a little disappointing. That remark can also be applied to Quartz De Thaix while Zanir, Lightning Strike, Heathcote and Grafite all return from absences of varying degrees and may find it tough going on the prevailing ground. SPEAR THISTLE beat Numide over 2m on a testing surface at Leicester last season and meets his old rival on identical terms. He had a nice pipe-opener at Sandown last month and stays this longer trip so is the obvious selection. Rigidity has been quite highly tried and will appreciate this easier grade - he may provide the biggest threat.
