    Verdict

    The ultra-consistent TREVOLLI gained his third victory in four starts over the track and trip on Saturday when having plenty in hand. A 5lb penalty takes him onto his highest-ever mark but he can still take care of Sophosc, who has been raised 8lb for an easy victory at Wolverhampton on Boxing Day. Progressive, who scored over 1m2f as a three-year-old, has been hurdling and won at Chepstow in October. A small field may not play to his strengths but Crimson King completed a track double when easily landing a Class 3 handicap in March so shouldn't be dismissed.
