        Verdict

        Cristal Pallas Cat has been keeping better company than this since winning at Kempton in December but remains 9lb higher. Bad Dog escapes a penalty having landed an apprentices' race at Newcastle last week but that was over a mile while the likes of Marshal Dan, Renny's Lady and Cloud Eight all make their handicap debuts with the latter stepping up from 6f. But FIERY BREATH made a winning start in handicaps when scoring over track and trip on his first start since August having undergone a wind operation during the interim. There should be more to come from him and he gets the nod.
