Verdict

A quality event and CALLIGRAPHER is our selection with Global City and Glamorous Spirit the others to make appeal. Calligrapher showed great tenacity to win a race at Pontefract last month and the form was given a huge boost by Film Set's recent victory at Newbury. With the Jarvis yard in tremendous form, he very much puts ticks into all of the right boxes. Global City has been highly tried since landing a Yarmouth maiden. A draw of ten would not have been ideal at Chester last time out. Glamorous Spirit receives a fillies allowance on this occasion. Well held in the Queen Mary, she raced keenly at Beverley before succumbing close home. Spanish Baron was clearly well fancied ahead of a course-and-distance victory and he did not disappoint. Blown It and Countrywide City both have a couple of pounds to find on official BHA figures. The former's victory was recorded at Wolverhampton prior to a no show in the Richmond Stakes. A likeable sextet that will be winning races in the future but for today, we are with Calligrapher.
