Chevallier has been absent since June but seeks a fifth course victory. Goring and My Target also have a good record over track and trip but the interesting one in this is ORIGINAL CHOICE. William Haggas’ four-year-old has only raced on the all-weather once before and came home in front. He’s only a pound higher than when placed in strong handicaps at Goodwood in the summer and has more scope than most of these. First Selection was just beaten here in the spring but still hasn’t won over a mile. Hakam has done nearly all of his racing over shorter trips along with Salateen, though the latter was staying on over 7f here at the start of the month.
Salateen 4-1jfav (9-10) Led after 1f, ridden over 1f out, headed and no extra inside final furlong, 4th of 7, 3/4l behind Never Back Down (9-4) at Lingfield 7f hcp (2) pol in Nov.
Goring (GER) 50-1 (8-13) Chased leaders stand side group, ridden over 1f out, soon weakened, 18th of 25, 17 1/2l behind Baron Bolt (9-3) at Ayr 6f hcp (2) hvy in Sep.

Chevallier 13-2 (9-10) Tracked leader, effort over 2f out, soon one paced, weakening when eased final furlong, last of 3, 8 3/4l behind Poet's Society (9-5) at Bath 1m hcp (3) fm in Jun.
Hakam (USA) 25-1 (9-6) In touch in mid-division, headway over 2f out, every chance over 1f out, unable to quicken inside final furlong, 4th of 14, 1 3/4l behind Glenamoy Lad (9-3) at Newcastle 6f hcp (2) pol in Oct.
First Selection (SPA) 16-1 (9-7) Dwelt in rear, pushed along and headway over 2f out, weakened entering final furlong, 12th of 13, 22 3/4l behind Chiefofchiefs (8-12) at Sandown 1m hcp (3) gd in May.

My Target (IRE) 33-1 (8-11) Slowly away in rear, outpaced 3f out, last of 8, 20 1/2l behind Little Jo (8-10) at Newmarket 1m hcp (3) sft in Nov.
