      Verdict

      ORCHARD SUPREME should last the distance on his first start over today's trip. He won over 1m2f here in December and his latest second to Scary Movie looks better in hindsight with two subsequent winners coming out of the race. Barodine would pose a genuine threat if at his best, while Battle Axe showed some promise when runner-up to Unbreak My Heart here but never figured on his latest start. The Blue Dog is a winner over a mile at Southwell but is returning from a lengthy absence, and Acropolis and Whitley Bay look up against it.
