In depth

Verdict

A tough start to this ground-breaking card. Grendisar is consistent but was no match for Salutation at Kempton last time and is a pound higher now. Aryal looks held, however, while The Lock Master has another career-high mark to defy having completed his hat-trick at Southwell and he may not be able to confirm earlier running with Mica Mika at Wolverhampton. Viewpoint was just caught over track and trip last time and holds Commissar on that run, though has 3lb more today. SCOTTISH STAR has been going really well around here this year and made the well-backed Van Percy pull out all the stops last month. He can get back on track in this with Honoured probably best of the rest.
