        Verdict

        Corporal Maddox and Steal The Scene won their penultimate starts and both ran well again off higher marks last time. The former has been raised a further 4lb after going close over track and trip but Hannington was still well beaten when runner-up in a plating race at Southwell and has his first start for a new yard today after leaving Andrew Balding. The latter runs NORTRON (NAP) in this and the Makfi colt has a shout on his earlier second at Kempton off today's mark. He gets the vote with Be Royale upped in class and looking high enough in the weights at present.
