      Verdict

      GORGEOUS GEEZER may just edge this. Beaten only a length at Kempton last time, an apprentice takes 3lb off his back today and Martin Smith's charge can open his account. There was little between Just A Groove and Sadie Babes when they filled the places at Catterick back in October and both have the beating of Blue Bounty on these terms while Birrafun looks a likely improver having made her debut in a tougher contest at Chelmsford last week.
