Verdict
Amir Zaman is selected in preference to Dream Magic, Ellina and Perfidious, while Bishops Finger could still have more to offer at this trip and is respected as an outsider with place claims. The last named has raced a little too freely on occasions and has failed to get home as a result. Still, he showed what he is capable of when things go his way on his penultimate start and can go close if John Egan can get to grips with him at an early stage. Perfidious has ability but is hard to predict. He stays the trip well and will be dangerous to discount after an encouraging effort last time. However, he does need to confirm that it was not just a one-off performance and could be a risky proposition for win only purposes. Ellina reverts to this surface after going close at Folkestone a couple of times during the last month. She has gone well here in the past and is sure to be a popular choice. Nevertheless, she is now edging her way up the ratings and looks fully exposed at present. The same has to be said of Dream Magic, who has form at the course but has been held off this mark in the past. Therefore, we switch to Amir Zaman, who is 9lb lower than he was when winning at Southwell in January. This course and distance holds no fears for the seven-year-old and, with his yard back amongst the winners of late, Amir Zaman is given the office to continue to run of good form today.
