      Verdict

      A modest maiden can go to Godolphin's MAGICAL EFFECT, who hasn't raced since January and makes his debut on Turf but has been placed on Polytrack and Tapeta. Swot disappointed after finishing second on his debut at Newmarket last year and hasn't been seen since October while Duke Of North ran poorly at Nottingham after appearing to show improvement on his second start at Doncaster and may do better in handicaps. Exentricity looks best of the rest but that's not saying much.
