Verdict
Just eight runners for this nursery, but still very competitive and Grenane is just given the nod ahead of Pelham Crescent and Deserted Prince. The David Evans trained colt was able to get off the mark at the 12th attempt on when dropped down to six furlongs, though the way he kept on to lead close home after being switched right over a furlong out suggests he will be as effective reverting back to this trip. Pelham Crescent ran well behind Fregate Island over the mile trip last time. He will not be inconvenienced by this drop in distance and looks a major threat to all. Deserted Prince is making his all-weather debut but does look well treated on his Windsor success back in October. Top-weight Porters is also hard to discount in a very tricky contest, but we will have to side with the progressive Grenane.
