Verdict
The David Loder-trained Aleutian will not have to be anything out of the ordinary to get off the mark on this his belated debut. However, he has obviously had his share of problems and a sensible approach should be taken when assessing the offer available on this, as yet, unraced four-year-old. Therefore, a more exciting option may come in the shape of Backlash, who ran an eye-catching race before fading close home on here latest start here. Tony Carrol's charge lost her chance with a slow start on that occasion but showed a good attitude to get involved in the race late on. Of the others, Oboe, Tanaffus and Horizontal are ones to note in running, whilst it will take a significant amount of support for Nossenko to give her the benefit of the doubt after a woeful effort when gambled on when making her racecourse debut last month. So, in race that makes limited appeal for punting purposes Backlash is selected as the sporting bet while a saver on Aleutian may be prudent if the prices permit.
